Juan Castilla – Player Bio

Born on July 27, 2004, Juan Castilla is a 20-year-old Colombian-American soccer player currently playing for Deportivo Pasto in Colombia’s First Division.

 

Juan began his journey at the Houston Dynamo Academy at the age of 7, where he played for five years before moving to Valencia, Spain, at age 12 to join Alboraya UD. After two seasons in Spain, he returned to the U.S. and joined the Columbus Crew Academy for his U15 season. That same year, he received his first USA national team call-up.

 

Following the season with Columbus, Juan returned to the Houston Dynamo Academy and, at just 15 years old, signed his first professional contract. He trained regularly with the first team while competing on weekends with the academy for two seasons. At age 17, he made his professional debut in his first MLS match.

 

During his time with Houston Dynamo, he appeared in 27 professional matches—3 with the MLS first team and 24 in MLS NEXT Pro.

 

In the summer of 2023, Juan transferred to Deportivo Cali in Colombia’s top division, where he played 14 matches and made his professional playoff debut. The following summer, he moved to Deportivo Pasto, where he has since played 34 matches and once again competed in the playoffs.

Luis Lugo – Player Bio

Born on September 3rd, 2004, Lugo is a 20-year-old Venezuelan American soccer player and former professional with Carolina Core FC in MLS Next Pro. He is currently competing for the University of Tampa in NCAA Division II while studying Business and Finance.

Lugo started playing soccer with local clubs Texas United and RISE Soccer Club between ages 10 and 12. At 13, he joined Houston Dynamo Academy and stayed through his U20 year. During his sophomore and junior years of high school, he spent two seasons with Albion Hurricanes ECNL.

After high school, Lugo played one semester of NCAA Division I soccer at Florida Gulf Coast University. At 19, he signed his first professional contract with Carolina Core FC. He was the top scorer for his high school team and led the ECNL league in goals during his U16 season. He also captained Houston Dynamo’s U20 team. Lugo made his professional debut at 19 against Crown Legacy, Charlotte FC’s second team, and competed one season in MLS Next Pro.

He now focuses on competing at the collegiate level and helping young players through Tekker 90 find their place in the soccer industry.
